The ACADEMY Keighley

A New Approach to Retail Training

From September 2008, Park Lane College Keighley (PLCK) is launching a Retail Academy, designed to give specialist industry training to budding entrepreneurs and to individuals already working (or wanting to work) in the retail sector.

The Academy is part of a larger retail project. With funding support from Bradford Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI), PLCK is also opening a test trading unit - The Store - on Cavendish Street, Keighley, for up to 10 "wannabe" retailers currently resident in Bradford District.

By working together, The Academy and The Store will give budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to run their own business and develop their retail skills.

Likewise, by working in partnership with the Keighley Town Centre Association, Bradford LEGI, and the Airedale Partnership, The Academy will also be used for employability training for the local community, and specialised retail training for employers and employees in the Bradford District Area.
